Lorrain graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1982. Lorrain is Dry Needling Certified, APTA (Orthopedic and Private Practice sections) and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.
Lorrain creates treatment plans based on the latest research and best evidence practices, to restore and maximize mobility, return to active lifestyles and prevent injury. Her goal is to educate and empower you to be able to freely do the things you love to do, like participating in sports, playing with grandchildren, engaging in activities with your friends. She treats pain and dysfunction by assessing the ‘whole’ person.
Lorrain is committed to continued learning as a Physical Therapist, specializing in manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, movement dysfunctions, trigger point dry needling and rehabilitation with a special interest in injury prevention in young athletes. Lorrain has 34 years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist, 16 of them with her business: Physical Therapy Specialists of Baton Rouge, LLC.
Lorrain’s passion in rehabilitation and injury prevention originates from always having been an athlete – a gymnast, ballet and jazz dancer, field hockey player, golfer, soccer player, swimmer and an ongoing runner and mountain biker. Lorrain’s personal experience with her own injury healing and prevention amplifies her ability to provide a service unlike any other and a special understanding of the importance of a swift return to active living.
Lorrain is the Owner of Omni Therapy and leader of the holistic approach to the correction and treatment of pain to help everybody achieve their greatest health, mobility, and fitness to live life without restriction.
Marieke Crawford, PT, MOMT
Marieke Crawford, PT, MOMT has worked as a Physical Therapist for 27 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the Hogeschool Enschede in the Netherlands in 1991, and received a Master of Orthopedic Manual Therapy Degree from the Ola Grimsby Institute of San Diego in 1997. She has worked with Lorrain Doucet at Physical Therapy Specialists of Baton Rouge and is excited about joining her again at Omni Therapy. Marieke has specialized training in Vestibular and Balance treatment, Functional Dry Needling and RacquetFit Certified providing a one of a kind Physical Therapy experience.
Marieke’s vision for her patients is to design individualized treatments based on the latest research to support their health and well-being.
Megan Mackay, LMT
Megan is a 2012 graduate of the Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy in Lake Charles. She specializes in Sports, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy and Infant Massage. Her background working with Physical Therapists has given her a unique advantage combined with her natural intuition to provide holistic healing. Megan took on Massage Therapy to have a profession in the healthcare industry before starting Physical Therapy school but quickly fell in love with Massage and decided to take it on full time and has never looked back. Her style is a combination of modalities learned both through schooling and continuing education and knowledge she is able to soak in through the amazing Physical Therapists she has been able to work with.
