What is Reiki? What does it do? How is it used?
Where did it come from? Who can be a Reiki practitioner? Who can receive it?
What are the benefits of Reiki?
Reiki, pronounced RAY’ – kee, is a Japanese word meaning Divine or Universal Life Force—Yes, like “The Force” in the Star Wars movies.
Reiki, an ancient healing technique re-discovered and developed in Japan, made its way to the West in the 1900s and is becoming integrated in mainstream healthcare in many areas of North America, including New York City’s Sloan-Kettering Hospital where reportedly more than 50% of the nursing and medical staff are Reiki practitioners.
Reiki is one of many world spiritual healing arts. A person becomes a Reiki Practitioner by receiving training from a Reiki Master-Teacher who instills an attunement (a process of transferring the ability to channel the energy and use it to benefit themselves or others) into the student. The Reiki Master-Teacher passes on the ability for another human to become a conduit or channel for the powerful healing life force energy—the energy of the primary creative Source, God.
Reiki practitioners flow the energy—some call it Chi, Prana, or Mana, depending on the culture—into and throughout their own bodies, then they radiate the Reiki from their hands into the energy system, aura, and body of another person, group of people, animals and plants, a geographical region, water, food, etc. to generate harmony, health, wellbeing, peace, prosperity, compassion, and joy.
Here are some examples of what Reiki does:
- Increases happiness and enthusiasm for life
- Restores mental, physical, and emotional balance
- Strengthens the immune function of humans and animals
- Creates sense of greater connection to the Divine/Source/God
- Dissolves dis-ease including tumors and cancers.
- Increases athletic ability and performance
- Repairs DNA, causes cellular regeneration & rejuvenation
- Repairs damaged nerves and spinal cord
- Releases stress…creating deep relaxation
- Increases focus, memory, creativity, and clarity
- Enhances Intuition
- Rejuvenates the whole body and activates youth-gene clusters
Anyone can learn and use Reiki. (Even people with no hands can be trained to send the energy from their hearts!) Anyone can receive Reiki. Any condition can be created or transformed with Reiki. There are no limits to what Reiki can do for humanity, for Earth, and of course, for YOU.
